Inferno recap; My Cloughb Spin Schedule for April
Well, Monday night, Inferno had a good turn out of folks who enjoyed the music but they didn't really stay more than about 45 minutes after the band wrapped up their set; thus Hell closed by midnight. Maybe because it was a generation of 'goths-gone-domestic' who seemed purposeful about leaving in time to survive their respective work weeks? Hard to say.
No disrespect intended, because, on the up side, for the two short sets I spun, I got a lot of great feedback from them! That was rewarding because I haven't really spun a set so dark in a long time. I basically tried to model the sets to feel like the long gone Club Babyhead's old "Stupid Dance" and "Son of Stupid Dance" Parties and then stepped it down a degree darker. Seems to have worked. Set list below.
For April, I have two gigs lined up right now. Both within the next week.
Hopefully I can get more scheduled, but here's what's coming for now...
On Friday, April 4, I will be spinning at PLAGUE from 9p-1a with DJ Gabriell! It should be a real good time for me since Gabriell can keep me dancing when I'm not spinning! Not to mention the super friendly and dance-responsive crowd! A dark man called Chasm opens the night from 9-10.
On Tuesday, April 8 from 9pm to 10pm, I get to open Down with Tempo night at Haven in Northampton MA. Thereafter, the A2Z DJ's Addam Bomb and Znuh keep the grind in motion until souls explode from the bliss of it all! Plus my lady GZ will be coming with me so I'll have an early dancer keeping my set company on the floor!
(Haven hostess Penelope mentioned that she was open to throwing me in during A2Z's mix, but honestly I don't know if I should really expect that. They and I haven't discussed it and I'm absurdly anxious enough most visits there to be bold enough to ask. See... it's because I'm not "cool" like "dat." I crumble. Like badly marketed cheese.)
INFERNO; March 31
set one
Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds - The Weeping Song
Bel Canto - Le Temps De'gage'
Qntal - Vedes Amigo
Yaz - Winter Kills
Dead Can Dance - The Ubiquitous Mr. Lovegrove
Sinead O'Conner - I Am Stretched On Your Grave
Love & Rockets - This Heaven
The Final Cut - I Believe In You
set two
Joy Division - Atmosphere
Die Krupps - Fatherland (Sister's of Mercy Mix)
Front 242 - Welcome to Paradise
Single Gun Theory - I Am What I See (New Delhi mix)
Xymox - Obsession
The Cure - The Blood
