October '13 - New England Scene Darkly
Here is the updated list of events in the goth and industrial dance-club scene of New England for October.
New England Scene Darkly provides an active list of links so you can find information about goth/industrial clubs or events so you can dance to the music you enjoy in that genre.
Sometime soon, we at SeeDarkly will make a couple of substantial changes to the way we provide NESD and we will be redesigning the SeeDarkly.com website to reflect some new objectives in both promotions & publication. Some changes in promotional areas have already been made. More are coming specific to publication. More details soon.
For some, this is a fresh look at things to do they may not have been aware of. For others, it's just a reminder of when their favorites happen or that our scene is quite active. No matter which you are, please get out and support our scene to keep it alive and enjoyable for everyone involved!

Welcome to OCTOBA'WEEN! Many of our scene's regular nights have great plans for the month so be sure to check the New England Scene Darkly calendar closely for details.
Let's begin with what's new, in order of appearance...
- In Maine, a new event began a couple months back and only reached our attention in September. Unknown Pleasures happens two Wednesdays monthly at Flask in Portland. Their schedule is expected to change in the future and we'll update when that happens. You can check the list below or the New England Scene Darkly calendar for links to more details.
- A new event opened last month in Worcester. Fetish Fridays happens weekly at BarFX. Their links have been added to the list below and their dates are up on the New England Scene Darkly calendar.
- Nokturnal Promotions starts a new event called Redemption this month in Rhode Island. It is set to occur one Thursday monthly at Dusk in Providence. Check the calendar for dates and links. Links are added to the list below as well.
- Only one of Salem's yearly Halloween parties at the Hawthorne Hotel has returned this year. The dates and links for the Salem Witches' Ball can be found on the New England Scene Darkly calendar.
- New Hampshire has a new event starting on the week of Halloween. Infamy, which will open earlier than most nights do to accommodate the inclusion of live bands to a dance night, happens one Sunday monthly at Bernie's in Nashua. Their links have been added the list below and their dates are up on the New England Scene Darkly calendar.
- Haven returns for its quarterly event and details are available from their link below and their entry on the calendar.
- Manray returns for another one-shot event on Halloween called All Souls and happens at Paradise in Boston. Details are provided at the links you'll find on the New England Scene Darkly calendar
- There are other rumors and unconfirmed possibilities out there but for now these are all I've been able to verify. Should anything additional come up after this posting it will be logged immediately on the New England Scene Darkly calendar so keep a close eye out for additional options.
I think that is all there is for news this month. If I hear of any other new events or one-shots that fit the criteria, they'll go directly on the calendar where I try to update the schedule as often as I'm aware of changes or additions.
If I've missed some vital info about something new or if something major has changed about an existing event (like broken or more appropriate links,) please be kind enough to let me know about it and I will verify and make additions or corrections as needed. Thank you. (Also please note that I can only include those events that fit the parameters of these listings and have a link for people to find more info. Promoters can help by including prominently in their promotions both the genre of music to be expected and a source website or page, preferably not only a Facebook invitation to the event.)
