A good number of my friends who I would invite and also are under 21 are affected by this as well... and I'm the promoter/DJ for the event! I'm certainly of the mind to change this, but that is a club management decision. If we run a really successful first event, then we may have the room to negotiate a change in policy. Right now, it stands as 21+. I hope we'll see you and whomever you can bring.
