JADED; April 10, 2010
JADED in Lowell celebrated its one year anniversary on Saturday! Which incidentally also marks my one year anniversary with Jaded, so I wouldn't have wanted to miss it for anything!
Not being on crutches for my recent surgery... (Click here if you don't know what I'm talking about.)
Not the screw in my girlfriend's tire that rendered us unable to drive to the event...
(My thanks to DJ Sugar Slut for coming to my rescue and driving me there and back!)
Nothing was going to prevent me from keeping this date if I had anything to say about it!
It was a pleasure to work with Xris Smack for the first time. We tagged briefly at the end of the night before he passed the closing songs to me. He also invited me out to his event in New York sometime in the future and I'm ever gratified, if somewhat surprised, by the invitation, (again, solely because it's in my nature to be self-deprecating; even if my girlfriend swears it's not self-deprecating to claim I am. ha.)
I played at least six tracks I have never used before and lots of requests. Nice to see the dance floor so active this time too! There was a lot of great energy.
Spinning on crutches was definitely a challenge. I resorted to simply keeping all my weight on one leg which tired me out considerably by the end of each set, but didn't really affect my ability to spin. I think I would've been better off in sneakers than the slip-ons I decided to wear. I'll be sure to do that in May.
I want to give my heartfelt thanks to Sarula for her faith in me as one of her core DJs over the last year and offer my congratulations on her success with Jaded! Looking forward to the next full year of fun!
I will be back out to spin Jaded with DJ Sugar Slut next month on Saturday, May 8!
Click here for the sexy flyer!
(If I've already given you a $2 discount card for it and you didn't go this time, it's still good any time I spin there, despite any date I may have written in. I have tons more for anyone who wants one, just let me know. 8D )
