Here is the updated list of events in the goth, industrial, and fetish dance-club scene of New England for January 2011, marking the 5th Anniversary of New England Scene Darkly.
It has certainly evolved since the first posting, including my favorite addition: the calendar view posted at www.SeeDarkly.com. But what began as a New Year's resolution 5 years ago to list New England's goth/industrial dance club events still shows one thing that I have felt it always proved beyond question:
The Scene Is Not Dead!
There is simply too much happening for that to be true.
Yes, there are various opinions about that, but I, for one, am happy to have been a part of this scene, through the highs and lows, good and bad (though who really couldn't do with less bad.) Things change constantly and we adapt as best we can to find the best outlet to enjoy ourselves within this mutual interest we share, but our scene has consistently had plenty to offer.
Personally, I appreciate every promoter and event producer out there who work so hard to offer the very many options we have in our scene to find that outlet, including those promoters providing live music experiences that I don't cover on this list. The fact is that without you all working so hard for us, I would have nothing to post here, and we would actually have the dead scene some claim exists.
So while the "news" and changes this month are slim, you'll find just as much to do from the links below or the calendar you can use to help plan your schedules, which is updated constantly through the month as necessary.
To all of you for whom this is a useful resource, please continue to support our scene to keep it alive and enjoyable for everyone involved and it will doubtless give back to you as well!

As always, this is an inclusive effort and not meant to knowingly exclude anyone in the NE goth and fetish scene. If I've missed some vital info about something new or if something major has changed about an existing event (like broken or more appropriate links,) please be kind enough to let me know about it and I will verify and make additions or corrections as needed.
