Welcome to another edition of my weekly goth/industrial music feature,
SeeDarkly Sunday DisCOVERies!
If you missed the introductory explanation of what this even is, click here to get caught up. :)
School's out (or getting out)... let's play something potentially "Prom Appropriate." ;)
Absurd Minds - Let The Music Play
Let The Music Play was released by Shannon in 1983 as the title track to her debut album. It was one of four dance-club hits from that album. The track was apparently first titled Fire & Ice, but I have no idea why it was changed if that is true.
Absurd Minds included their cover of the song on a 2005 album called Revived, which included various tracks from earlier albums, remixes, and a handful of previously unreleased original tracks. With the harsh German male vocals and AM's signature EBM/synthpop style,
"this groove we can't ignore!"
The Cover:
The Original:
Next week: Slowing it down for the second Sunday of the month with a down-tempo selection.
Comments, suggestions, discussions, etc... welcome!
I'll be spinning in Boston tomorrow, June 8. Check my schedule for details on that event and other future events as well. If you like some of the tracks here, be sure to request them when you see me in the booth! ^_^
Explore the darkness,
-Xero
