It was so good to get back to Plague! I have definitely missed it!
I spun with Scavenger for the first time. We shot Rock-Paper-Scissors to see how we'd divide the night and tied 3 times! We decided, since we appeared to be so in-sync, we should tag-team the last hour.
Doomsday Jones started the the night from 9-10, and spun a few tracks I had wanted to use for Old School Night, so I really relied on requests and a lot of '80's goth-hits... which went over really well!
Oh and to the guy who screamed at me that everything I played sucks: I contest respectfully that a full dance floor counters amply your claim and coming back to me to say you take the accusation back when you hear one song you do like does not make you my pal.
Not that I take such an outburst personally; it's bound to happen from time to time. Seriously, I'm the first to beat myself if I'm sucking and for every little technical fail I may make (read past playlists if you don't believe me...) but I really had my thumb on the Old School pulse this time and feel pretty good overall with the results. Considering anyone's inability to please everyone all of the time, even as self-deprecating as I am, I'd say I held a notable percentage in that regard this time.
My thanks to all those who came and participated; I could hardly do it without them.
Next up, I return to Haven in Northampton MA for Haven Faire, their annual renaissance party, on Tuesday, August 25!
I'll be spinning along side Azrael & Mothra!
I'm still hoping I can put together a "Black Fool" outfit from Christopher Moore's book, Fool, but I have yet to put any time into finding a coxcomb and shoes that point into a curl. Chances are, given the hot weather lately, I'm probably going to just wear something loose and cool. 8D
